There are various ways to remove a tree.

The simplest, obviously is a clear fell if the circumstances allow it.
Next option is to remove some or all branches by tying them to ropes and (with the help of a ground crew), lower them out of the tree safely to the ground from where they will be processed through the chipper and turned into leaf mulch.

If a tree is too dangerous to climb we use mobile towers to get access to it and dismantle it in small hand held pieces. Also clearing powerlines can require a mobile tower since precision is everything (in some cases covering the wires with Tiger Tails is enough to make it safe to work around).

Yet another option is to remove a tree (or parts of it) by crane. This is the quickest and cleanest way to proceed with tree removal but normally is only reserved for large trees and dangerous specimens.
Storm-damage is also often removed by a crane.

What all processes have in common is the need to chainsaw everything to sizes that can be processed by our Bandit 18″ Chipper.

Although trees should be planted in appropriate locations where it is envisaged they will spend their entire lives, there are occasions when large and mature trees require removal. This procedure not only requires a sound knowledge of safety practices, it also requires experience and heavy machinery.
